Greetings all you wonderful people in
cyberspace!! :O))

As I raced around getting everything packed and ready for the European leg of the 'Wall' tour with Roger Waters, I kept thinking "I really must write a newsletter... it's been absolutely AGES"!!!!

And it isn't because nothing's happening!!!!!!! Far from it... these last fun-filled eight months really have just sky rocketed by!!!!!!!!

And so, as we settle into the touring routine after two incredible gigs in Lisbon I've managed to find a few quiet minutes in my hotel room in Madrid to finally make some notes of the written kind...

Roger Waters 'The Wall' tour
I guess some of you know that late last year I played guitar with Roger Waters on the amazing 'Wall' tour... we toured for over four months, visiting America, Canada and a couple of shows in Mexico... and what an AMAZING reaction!!!!

I think people have been waiting a long time for this one, and I have to say the stage show is absolutely incredible!!!! And, as we start the European leg I really can't wait for all my friends on this side of the pond to see it!!!!

Dave on top of the Wall
Speaking of the 'Wall' type stuff, here's a short interview that I did for Roger's website... filmed during rehearsals back last September.

Video Interviews
Also while I was out on tour last year I met up with some of my instrument distributors, and a few of them asked if they could film video interviews for their respective websites... so if you're interested (or even if you're not!!) here's the links so you can check them out!!

Further to the Guitar Player TV interview, there's also a little two page feature on me in the March edition of Guitar Player too!!! :O))

And if that wasn't enough, yesterday an on-line interview went up on the Guitar Planet site too!!!! :O))) Click HERE!

Murray Hockridge and Dave Kilminster

During our little Christmas break, Murray and I decided to fly over to the US to play a few acoustic gigs... the reception was truly incredible... so much so that we're already planning a return visit in the Fall, with the aim of playing anywhere & everywhere in America and Canada that we can!!!

Plans are embryonic at the moment, but we'll obviously keep you posted... in the meantime here's a couple of pictures from the shows, plus a short interview that we did whilst backstage at BB Kings nightclub...

The colour shots are from the Magic Room in Boston (taken by Carla Huntington), and the black & white shot is by Eve Reinhardt, taken at the famous Iridium jazz club in New York... :O))

Closer to Earth
While we were out there we also sold a little promo CD containing four songs from our forthcoming album (Closer to Earth), which, by the way sold ridiculously well!!! :O)) Although we later discovered that there was a umm... small pressing problem (all four tracks played as one!!!), so we're not going to be selling those on line...

Sorry...

However, we're planning to put the whole entire album up on iTunes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, 'Closer to Earth' will finally be released and available on 4-4-11... that's less than two weeks away!!!!!! :O)))

Scarlet news
As some of you may know I was never completely happy with my album 'Scarlet'... I rushed to finish it before heading out on my first Roger Waters tour (the 'Dark Side Of The Moon' tour), and regretted it ever since!!!

And so, being ever the perfectionist, I went back, added some guitars, some voices, tweaked, remixed, remastered (with the indispensable help & support of my good friend Jamie Humphries)... and now it sounds totally amazing!!!! :O))

So now, 'Scarlet, the Director's Cut' will also be available on 4-4-11!!!! Firstly as a download on iTunes, and then later on CD...

Yep, albums from me are like buses... nothing for ages, and then two come along at the same time!!!

Even MORE stuff!!!!!!
And if all that wasn't enough, during last years craziness I also found time to add a few guitars to Heather Findlay's solo EP 'The Phoenix Suite'... which will be available next month!!! See www.heatherfindlay.net for more details...

Heather's also asked me to join her band for a couple of Festivals this Summer too!!! :O)) So more news on that when I have it!!!

Finally...
Japan and it's people have always been very close to my heart... and I'm still deeply shocked and saddened by the catastrophic effects of the recent Earthquake and Tsunami off the North coast of Japan... not to mention the current threat of nuclear disaster, and the food/water contamination as well...

Those people have been through so much already... and I really wish I could help in some way... hopefully I'll figure something out...

Take care all you people out there...

D x
