I hope you're all having a wonderful Christmas, and a very cool Yule... :O) And thank you so much for all your support throughout the year... next year is already shaping up to be amazing, but I'll tell you all about it in January!!! In the meantime I recorded a little acoustic ditty on Christmas Eve, just before midnight...I was sat there drinking wine, and looking out of the window at the snow on the ground... and decided to record a tune... Click HERE to listen. I really hope you like it, and am wishing you all a very happy and peaceful New Year.... Dave x

Thursday 27 July 2009 Hi Folks, Yes it's been another busy few days, but I've finally managed to sort out the gig pictures from the Pistoia Blues Festival in Italy that I played at recently with my friend Guthrie Govan... The first three were taking by my friend Anna Abbate... :O) www.flickr.com/photos/annabbate And all the others are courtesy of Marco (Mr. Panda) our fab driver/roadie... :O) Hope you enjoy them... I took a load of scenic ones as well, which I'll try and include in the next newsletter... Murray Hockridge and I will now be playing the I'm sorry if this has messed anyone's plans up, but it's due to circumstances beyond our control... Rest assured though, we will definitely Rock Cambridge on that day... :O) By the way, if you can't see Murray and me at the Cambridge Rock Festival then you may want to have a look at our latest video and audio montages... :O) Enjoy... Speaking of which, I hope you're all having a rocking week out there!!! Take care, Dave x - Dave Kilminster, 27 July 2009

Thursday 2 July 2009 Hi Folks, Just writing this quickly as I'm preparing to fly to Italy tomorrow for a couple of gigs at the Pistoia Blues festival this Friday 3rd July. I'm playing an electric set with my good friend Guthrie Govan in the afternoon on the main stage, and later on in the evening I'm performing a solo acoustic show... which I don't do very often so that should be very interesting!! Feel free to check out the website, but also bear in mind that it is Italy, so the details/times/names are likely to be wrong, or change without any notice whatsoever!!! But do come along and say 'ciao' if you're in the area!! :O) www.pistoiablues.com/edizione-2009/programma.php There's actually a whole bunch of fun stuff happening over the next few weeks, but we'll try and get another newsletter out very soon to let you all know what I'm actually up to!!! Fans of the Hockridge Kilminster project should be pleased though!!! By the way, I was very upset last week to hear the sad news concerning Michael Jackson... and further saddened by the fact that he didn't seem to have one good friend in the world to look out for him... what a waste. Anyway I recorded these two pieces for the Michael Jackson audition and, as a little tribute I've decided to put them up on my website and MySpace sites... Hope you enjoy them... www.davekilminster.com The 'Beat It' solo is always a lot of fun to play, but I was really pleased with my interpretation of the keyboard solo in 'Don't Stop Til You Get Enough'... which I obviously played on guitar... :O) Take care out there! Very best wishes,

Tuesday 2 December 2008 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM DAVE! REGARDING THE POSTPONEMENT OF MUMBAI I was greatly saddened to learn of the recent atrocities committed in Mumbai last week... And as a result of those terrorists activities, the organisers have decided to cancel the projected 'Live Earth' concert scheduled for next weekend... It's understandable, considering the chaos the present situation has created... and also the potential danger to music fans, festival workers and the artists themselves... but I really hate the fact that such mindless violence has not only caused such pain, suffering and heartache to thousands of people... but also disrupted an event for such a worthy cause. I very much hope that the concert will be rescheduled for sometime in the near future... after all, this senseless fighting over religion/land/whatever won't really be possible when we're all extinct!! - Dave Kilminster, 1 December 2008

Tuesday 11 November 2008 Dave recently did an interview with Matt Frost for Performing Musician magazine! I recently did an interview with Matt Frost for the magazine 'Performing Musician'... He was very interested in the project I'm doing with Murray Hockridge, so a few weeks later he brought his family down to a gig that Murray and I were playing in Peterborough... When we'd finished playing his young daughter Summer proudly presented us with some pictures that she'd drawn of us while we were playing... :O) Murray and I loved them so much that we wanted to share them with the world... So here they are.... enjoy!!! :O) (See photos!)

Wednesday 25 June 2008 Dave recently surprised some Mostly Autumn Fans when he was the unanticipated opening act! Those who were at the gig were stunned and thrilled to see the guitarist many had just seen on stage with Roger Waters performing a solo set unannounced. Here, in his own words, is how it came to pass. So...how it came to pass... It was really lovely to hang out backstage with Bryan Josh and Livvy Sparnenn (from Mostly Autumn) recently... The guys had just come down from Scotland to the O2 Arena in London to catch the second of our two nights there with Roger Waters... After two years of touring, this was to be our penultimate 'Dark Side Of The Moon' show... :O/ With only one more show to play (in St. Petersburg, Russia) I was kidding to everyone that I'd be 'unemployed' pretty soon... 'Well, you can support us if you want!!!' said Bryan, jokingly... I thought about it though... The very idea of playing a gig on my own, just acoustic guitar and a mic, absolutely terrified me... which seemed like a really good reason to go and do it!!! So a few days later (May 29th to be exact) I trotted down to 'the Brook' in Southampton, for my first ever solo support slot... I'd played 'The Brook' a few times before with John Wetton and Qango, and always enjoyed it there... so I knew that the audience would be great...:O) They certainly were a wonderfully supportive crowd, and, despite being very nervous, I'm really glad that I did it... and who knows, I may even do some more shows with the guys in the future!!! (See photos!) Mostly Autumn were great by the way!!! You should definitely go and check them out, and buy the new album 'Glass Shadows' featuring the wonderfully talented, amazing and beautiful Anne Marie Helder! :O) |
